Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was also employed by various top eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for culinary arts and cooking from the age of. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great adventure for me. I was unable to learn enough, didn't perform enough or work hard enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy made her more aware and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. As an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne stated that she felt privileged in that she could share her true passion with other people.
